<description><![CDATA[The summer after my senior year in high school my parents took the family to St. Lucia Island to volunteer at St. Jude's Hospital for the second time. This is a picture of the family standing in front of the luxury home the hospital rented for us in the town of Vieux Fort.<br />
<br />
When the Sisters gave up trying to run a nursing school for the government in Castries, they went on a search for a possible spot to open their own hospital where the nurses could put into practice the skills they were learning. After a prayer to St. Jude, they found an abandoned hospital building which the U.S. government had built on the wrong island during World War II. Sr. Mark redid the electricity and plumbing. My parents volunteered at the hospital four or five times. It was an eye opening experience for all of us.]]></description>

Maggie McCarty and Elizabeth Bond provided an evening of music (Fools for Love) and got everyone into the spirit with their hats. What a splendid evening!]]></description>
