When the Sisters gave up trying to run a nursing school for the government in Castries, they went on a search for a possible spot to open their own hospital where the nurses could put into practice the skills they were learning. After a prayer to St. Jude, they found an abandoned hospital building which the U.S. government had built on the wrong island during World War II. Sr. Mark redid the electricity and plumbing. My parents volunteered at the hospital four or five times.
